Phase Management defines the reusable delivery structure applied to projects. Its sub-tabs are Project Type, Timelines, Phases, Tasks, and Checklists.

Project Type

Project types group delivery templates for different kinds of work. Create a type or group, then connect the relevant master phases, tasks, and timeline structure.

Use clear names that teams will recognise when creating a project.

Timelines

Timelines arrange phases and tasks into a reusable sequence. Use them to define the expected programme before applying it to live projects.

When editing a template:

  • Add the required phases
  • Add or select master tasks
  • Confirm ordering and dependencies
  • Review duration and predecessor relationships

Phases

Master phases are reusable stages of delivery. Each phase can include a name, description, and relationships to project types or tasks.

Tasks

Master tasks standardise repeated work. Configure the task description and supporting behaviour, then reuse the task within timelines and project structures.

Where applicable, tasks can include predecessors, approval behaviour, attachments, descriptions, and subtasks.

Checklists

Master checklists create consistent review criteria. Add checklist items in the intended working order and provide descriptions where a reviewer needs extra context.

  1. Define the project type.
  2. Create the required master phases.
  3. Create reusable master tasks.
  4. Add standard checklists.
  5. Assemble the timeline.
  6. Review order and dependencies.
  7. Test the structure on a sample project.
Why doesn’t a new master item appear in a project?+

Master-data changes do not always rewrite existing project structures. Confirm the item is connected to the correct project type or timeline, then apply it through the project workflow.
