Product Management
Maintain product sections, products, materials, material types, and commercial taxonomy.
Product Management is the source of reusable product and material data used in libraries, quotations, and related commercial workflows.
Sections
Sections organise products into meaningful commercial or specification groups. Create section names that can be reused consistently in quotations and section-based views.
Products
Open Products to search and filter the product catalogue. Filters include category, sub-category, and brand.
Select Add Product to create a record. Depending on your configuration, a product can include:
- Name and description
- Category and sub-category
- Brand
- Unit
- Images or attachments
- Material relationships
- Commercial values used by supported workflows
Materials
Materials identify the reusable material options connected to products. Maintain clear, non-duplicated names so users can choose the correct specification.
Material Types
Material Types provide a more specific classification beneath materials. An eligible type can be configured as the automatic default where the workflow supports it.
Product taxonomy
Use the product actions menu to manage:
- Categories
- Sub-categories
- Brands
Recommended maintenance
- Search before creating a record.
- Use consistent singular names.
- Keep taxonomy broad enough to remain reusable.
- Add product-specific detail to the product, not the category.
- Review dependencies before deleting taxonomy.
Why can’t I find a product?+
Clear category, sub-category, brand, and text filters. Also confirm that the product and its related taxonomy are active.
